Local Area Pembrokshire Activities
Nolton Haven is situated midway along the St Brides Bay coast, on the West Pembrokeshire Coast in the Pembrokeshire National Park.
It is a small hamlet which is clustered around a
small cover, some seven miles from the county town of Haverfordwest, and ten miles down the coast from the UK's smallest city St Davids.
Nolton Haven possesses one hotel / pub, the 'Mariners', where good meals and bar snacks are available.
It is situated immediately behind the beach and has a very convenient position for those who wish to have their midday snack
without coming away from the beach. They cater especially for children. There is a large free public carpark. The beach is sandy,
sheltered between cliffs, is fairly shallow and is safe at most times except at low tide between the headlands in rough seas.
There are superb walks in both directions along the Pembrokshire Coast Path. Newgale, two miles to the north of Norton Haven is a superb surfing beach, nearly three miles long, with perfect sand.
Druidston Haven, one mile south, is one of the best beaches, but has poor parking facilities. However, it is a lovely cliff walk,
or on occasion, at spring low tides, you can walk round from Nolton Haven. Above the haven is the Druidston Hotel, - a must for meals, but make sure you check out their local brewery guest ales. The panorama of St Brides Bay is magnificent, enjoying a drink and watching the fantastic sunsets over the St Davids headland is a must.
There are riding stables nearby, activity centres, castles, museums and many other entertainments available within a short distance.
Pembrokeshire also has some of the best bird watching, sea fishing, game fishing and freshwater fishing.
